Driftwood Entry Bench

Every house needs somewhere to sit down and pull your boots off. The Driftwood bench is solid oak, brushed to raise the grain and then weathered to a soft driftwood grey that gets better as it picks up marks. The lower slatted shelf takes baskets, shoes or a folded throw, and the seat is deep enough to be genuinely comfortable rather than decorative. It is joined with mortise and tenon, not screws and brackets, which is why it will not develop a wobble in year three. Our mark is engraved into the end of the seat. Suitable for covered porches as well as hallways; if it lives outside, re-oil it twice a year.
